About Us

The department of Surgery at SGT University headed by Dr. (Prof) P N Agarwal, is at the forefront of teaching the principles & art of surgery to the undergraduates and postgraduate students.

The department is providing regular surgical interventions in multiple fields including Minimal Access Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Hepatobilliary &Pancreatic surgery, Plastic & Reconstructive, Vascular, Urology &Cancer surgery.

The Department runs OPD 6days a weekdivided between 5 units headed by eminent faculties.OPD services also include a Urology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Breast&Vascular surgery clinic twice a week.

Ward:

Surgical ICU: 5 beds

Post-Operative Ward: 16 beds

General Ward;       Male : 3 with 90 beds

Female 2 with 60 beds

OT Services

There are three operating room earmarked for general surgery department including one modular operation theatre. Emergency& Septic OT are separate.

Each modular OT is equipped with LED OT lights, Hydraulic OT table with C- arm unit, electrosurgical equipments including Harmonic scalpel, advanced High Definition Laparoscopic system, Laser Systems and all other necessary equipments.

A variety of routine general surgical procedures are done which includes;

Minimal Access Surgery: Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Hernia repair, Diagnostic Laparoscopic procedures. VATS (Video Assisted Throracic surgery)

Endoscopic procedures: Upper & Lower GI Endoscopy.

Urological procedures: URS, , PCNL, TURP, TURBT including open urological procedures Nephrectomy, Pyeloplasty, Nephrolithotomy etc.

GI Surgery: Colectomy, Hemicolectomy, Pancreaticojejunostomy,Abdominoperineal resection.

Plastic Surgery: Burns,Stricture, Hypospadiasis, Breast Reconstruction, Head & Neck reconstruction

Various Oncosurgical procedures.

Laser Surgery: EVLA for Varicose Vein, proctosurgical proceduresfor Hemorrhoids, Fistula& Pilonidal Sinus.
