Universal Health Coverage

A poster making competition was organized by the department of Community Medicine, on the theme – “Universal Health Coverage” in order to celebrate World Health Day on 7th April 2022. Twenty three MBBS and BNYS students actively participated and prepared the posters. The best  posters were selected by  the external examiners (Dr. Firoza Bano, Dr. Seema Choudhary and Dr. Babita) of MBBS 3rd Prof (Part-I) annual exam April 2022. 1st prize was awarded to Ritu Ahirwal (BNYS 2020 batch), 2nd prize was awarded to Ashita Arora (6th sem MBBS), 3rd prize was awarded to Mansi (BNYS 2020 batch) and posters  of students (Rubal Dalal, Ujjawal, Ashima, Anmol, Rashika & Payal Gahlot)     were awarded with Consolation prizes.  Certificates of participation will be awarded to all. The prizes will be given by Dr SPS Kochar Dean FMHS.

Workshop on EEG in the Hospital Auditorium

The Department of Pediatrics, FMHS SGT University conducted a Workshop on EEG in the Hospital Auditorium on 25th March 2022. The agenda of the workshop was to create awareness about the new guidelines about EEG among young doctors & healthcare workers. Renowned speaker Dr. Rakesh Jain, Senior Consultant – Paediatric Neurology, delivered lectures on various sub-topics related to EEG.

Organizing Chairperson, Dr. Pankaj Abrol Professor & Head, Department of Pediatrics invited all the faculty members and PG students from Pediatrics and General Medicine departments of SGT Medical College to ensure maximum participation of related medical staff & dissemination of the knowledge amongst them. Some local pediatricians of Gurugram were also invited.

Our eminent speaker Dr. Rakesh Jain, Senior Consultant – Pediatric Neurology, enlightened the audience with her interesting and informative session.

 All the aspects of the Program were covered ardently & enthusiastically.

This Workshop was a successful event with maximum participation from all the registered delegates.

Fundus Fluorescein Angiography

epartment of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences and Optometry, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, SGT University, under the aegis  of SGT Ophthalmological Association and Oculus Academy organised a workshop on  “– Fundus Fluorescein Angiography” on 21st  March , 2022.

 

The workshop was aimed at upgrading the skills of Residents, Optometry Students and faculty of Ophthalmology & Optometry in the techniques of Fundus Fluorescein Angiography.

After a brief inauguration by Prof Sham Singla,Advisor, Prof Gen SPS Kochar,Dean-FMHS , Prof Dr.A.K.Khurana,Prof & HeadDept of Ophthalmology, welcomed the dignitaries and guest faculty and highlighted the importance of this workshop on Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA).

The Guest Speaker Dr.Manisha Nada,Prof & Unit Head,Vitreo-Retina Services,RIO,PGIMS,Rohtak has  a rich  teaching and clinical  experience. She is Vitreo-Retina Specialist and Cataract Surgeon of international repute. She has many publications in national and international Journals. She has many Presentations at national & international forums,as invited Guest Faculty. She has been editor of HJO and in at present Vice President of HOS.The workshop began with a lecture on the various aspects of the topic followed by Hands on Demonstration of all important and essential steps of interpretation of Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA).

Renowned speaker Dr. Bindu Yadav, Surveillance Officer in WHO, delivered lectures on various sub-topics related to Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPD). She talked about the National Immunization schedule and explained where and how to store the vaccines.

Hands on Training Workshop, Department of Pathology held on 21st February 2022.

The Department of Pathology of SGT Medical College, Hospital &Research Institute had the pleasure of hosting Dr Sant Prakash Kataria, Professor PGIMS Rohtak. A teaching programme was organised for the post graduate residents of the Department under the aegis of Dr Rajeev Sen, Head, Department of Pathology.
A stalwart in the field of Renal Pathology, Dr Sant Prakash Kataria manoeuvred the department through Renal Biopsy processing and evaluation, including histomorphology and immune fluorescence and fielded all the questions on the same.
A special session was conducted for the post graduate residents where Dr Sant Prakash Kataria was kind enough to show some selected slides to the students.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr Singla, Dr Reena Nayyar, Medical Director SGT University, Dr Kocchar, Dean FMHS, SGT University and the management for their support and guidance in organising the workshop.

Automated Perimetry

Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences and Optometry, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, SGT University, under the aegis  of SGT Ophthalmological Association and Oculus Academy organised a workshop on  “– Automated Perimetry” on 21st  Feb, 2022.

 The Guest Speaker Dr.Suneeta Dudey,Head Glaucoma Services,SCEH,Daryaganj,New Delhihas  a rich  teaching and clinical  experience. She is Glaucoma/Cataract Surgeon of international repute. She has many publications in national and international Journals. She has many Presentations at national & international forums,as invited Guest Faculty. The workshop began with a lecture on the various aspects of the topic followed by Hands on Demonstration of all important and essential steps of interpretation of automated field charts (HFA).

(Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Delhi) at the SGT Hospital

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology organised a hands-on workshop in collaboration with the Multidisciplinary Committee of AOGD (Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Delhi) at the SGT Hospital on 18th February 2022, on Prevention of Postpartum Hemorrhage.
Postpartum hemorrhage is an obstetric emergency which can lead to sudden maternal collapse.
Dr. Bindoo Yadav, Professor & Head of the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, FMHS, welcomed all delegates. The programme was inaugurated by The Honourable Dean (FMHS), Dr. S. P. S. Kochar. The Dean welcomed the guest faculty, Dr. Shashi Lata Kabra Maheshwari and Dr. Pinkee Saxena, Senior specialists from the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, New Delhi, as well as Dr. Sushma Sinha, HoD (Ob-gyn) and Senior specialist, Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital, New Delhi.
The workshop had postgraduate students, senior residents and faculty members busy involved with making different types of balloon catheters, practicing compression sutures on models of the uterus and demonstration of an actual Non-pneumatic anti shock garment.

The Department of Pediatrics, FMHS SGT University conducted a Workshop on Gastroenterology in the Hospital Auditorium on 16th Feb 2022.

The agenda of the workshop was to create awareness about the new gastroenterology guidelines among young doctors & healthcare workers. Renowned speaker Dr. Neelam Mohan from a prestigious institute delivered lectures on various sub-topics related to Gastroenterology.
